[S]Hop Until You Drop at the Black Friday Blog Hop # BkFriHop

Welcome Hoppers to Carrie Ann’s Second Annual Black Friday Blog Hop.   It’s ONE DAY only and we’re giving away prizes and talking about books we love.

As Black Friday is one of our biggest shopping days before the winter holidays, it seems practical to discuss which books make great gifts.  I’m always struggling for gift ideas.  So with that in mind,  I’m discussing books I like to give as gifts and some fun ones I’ve received.

Books I Give to Friends and Family

Gifts for colleagues (perfect for the Secret Santa or Grab Bag Party)

Children’s Gifts

Books I’ve Received that I’ve Appreciated

I’m giving away a $5.00 gift card to Amazon or Target (your choice) as both are places where you can shop for just about anything you need. To win, tell me either which book (s) you like to gift or the best book you ever got as a gift and why.  Maybe by the end of the day, we’ll have some great ideas for our own holiday lists.

There’s more….

There are over 200 giveaways on each blog hosted by that Author or Blogger during the hop so visit them by clicking this here.

And that’s still not all….

There are also  THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!

Now what are those prizes?

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet

2nd Grand Prize: A $75 Amazon or B&N Gift Card

3rd Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!

Good Luck. Happy Shopping

Sabrina

If you are shopping for an ebook, consider my recent release Fires of Justice from Ellora’s Cave. Just the right amount of hot for a cold, wintry night.

Fires of Justice Book Blurb

Always read the fine print when swearing an eternal oath to gods and guardians…

Beholden by the sacred vows of her coven, fire witch Calista Reid agrees to temporarily mate with shifter Cullen McMahan to fulfill a mission assigned by the guardians. When tall, dark and damaged arrives on her doorstep, generating enough heat to scorch a fire witch, Calista finds herself drawn to his battle-hardened body and broken soul. His pain speaks to her own deep-rooted isolation and the intensity of his hunger slakes her passion like no other.

Cullen, scarred by a past that left him an indentured soldier to the guardians, resents yet another hump-on-command assignment…until he encounters the compassionate, fearless, incendiary redhead who detonates his body and reawakens the emotions sacrifice and loss had suppressed. But Cullen harbors a terrible secret—one that reaches back into Calista’s troubled childhood and threatens the foundation of their growing bond.

  1. I give lots of different kinds of books as gifts. I like to match books up with the persons interests. Books make great gifts.

    1. Yes, they do and matching is another one of my tricks. One of my favorite match is to a child a present of a book where the main character has his/her name. Challenge sometimes is getting the spelling correct. Thanks for dropping by.

  2. I received an authographed Temple of the Winds from my aunt. It was my very first authographed book from a series I love.

  6. I like to gift classical works of literature because in my opinion you can never go wrong with that and their value is endless.

    Thanks!

    1. I do that as well. I also like to expose and be exposed to classics I do not usually consider as classics or I don’t know, which is why I was thrilled to receive a copy of Idealists. Learning classics from other countries that are not as well known outside those cultures is always a welcome gift from my point of view.

  7. I do not like crowds so BF shopping is not for me! I will be spending my day hopping and then snuggled up reading! Well that is after I decide on what new book I have just added to my to be read list! It gets longer every hop! Thanks!

  18. My mother gave me Gone with the Wind one year for Christmas. It was my first big read and I fell in love with it. I haven’t stopped reading since! Now for Christmas I would love an autographed copy of one of Lynsay Sands book especially one from her Argeneau Vamp series! :)

    Thanks!

    jinni_james@yahoo.com

  19. I got an autographed copy of Dark Descendent by Jenna Black.
This is the BEST way to spend Black Friday. Sitting at home, hopping with old friends and making new ones. I can’t handle the crowds anymore so I only do Black Friday shopping online if I do any. I tend to pick up gifts throughout the year so come November I’m finished. That way I can spread out the purchasing and not spend a fortune at the time of the year when my job is at its slowest and my paycheck is at its lowest. Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win.

  20. The best book I’ve ever received as a gift probably won’t appeal to everyone but it was U2 By U2 in hardcover. I’m a huge fan of the band so it was the perfect gift.

  21. I have a problem giving books as I have no friends who read! My family gives me gift cards so I can fill my ereader with books I like. Even my husband has stopped trying to buy me books because 9 times out of 10, I already have that book!

  22. I always like to give GCs from Amazon so others can choose what books they want. But, of course, I buy Dr. Seuss every year for my 6 year old. Those are his fave.

    Classics are nice too.

  23. I think the best book I’ve been gifted has been a cookbook. LOL. Not that I enjoy the reading, but my family’s a lot happier! *snicker* I love the paranormal/fantasy romances though. My daughter is always asking for the paranormal books. I’ve lost track there.

I stuck to the web today instead of braving the crowds. ;) Thanks for the giveaway!

  28. I like to gift the Fairy Tale books to all of my younger nieces and nephews in the hope of making them a book geek just like their auntie. Unfortunately none of my family likes to read however my best friend does so I just have her make me a list of what she wants and this year I can gift them directly to her Kindle. How easy is that?
