Six Sentence Sunday
It’s been awhile since I’ve participated in Six Sentence Sunday. I’m glad to be back. Today’s six is from my debut Fires of Justice releasing October 17 from Ellora’s Cave.
As background, our heroine, fire witch Calista Reid, must mate with shifter Cullen McMahan to fulfill a mission assigned by the Argenta, the guardian of justice. In this snippet, he arrives at her doorstep and they meet for the first time.
Her body calmer, she yanked the door open. “You selling Girl Scout cookies? I could use some Thin Mints right about now.”
A frown thinned his sensuous lips, too-old, empty eyes shot ice at her until she shivered. Power rolled off him in waves.
“Didn’t think so.”
I’d love to know what you think. Also visit the other writers sharing their work on Six Sentence Sunday.

Love how she greets him. Congrats on your upcoming release!
Thanks Jessica. Glad you stopped by.
Congrats on the upcoming release! So exciting, and it’s part of the Hex Appeal series, too. Very cool.
Thanks Karla. It is exciting. Hope your release is doing well. Thanks for dropping by and liking the facebook page.
Ooooh, can feel the tension. Great job!
Thanks Alexa. I appreciate the poke to get back here. Its been awhile and I forgot how much fun participating is.
Sounds great, Sabrina! Will it be released in paperback?
Thanks Naomi. Its novella length and e-book only. Maybe the next one.
I need to bite the bullet and get an e-book reader. It’s not the money that prevents me. It is learning another whole system when I haven’t come close to learning how to program a VCR, let alone mastering my cell phone and computer. But I will, and when I do, yours will be the first book I purchase.
Thanks Naomi. You are great. I am relatively new to the ebook reader myself. I promised myself I’d buy one if I got the book contract. Honestly, I am still getting used to it. Its not hard to use technologically, its just different to read with. I am finding there are certain books that I like to read on it and others I still prefer old fashion paper.
Very nice. Love the too-old eyes
Thanks Sue. Glad you dropped by. I just took a swing over your way.
He sounds like a force to be reckoned with…..and I love her opening line! Wonderful six.
Thanks Christine. I love the line too. No matter how often I rewrote this thing, I was stubborn about keeping that line in.
Ooooh. I like the tension started. Very nice!
Thanks Adaline. Glad you dropped by.
Oh heck, I HATE it when I have to fulfill a mission by having sex with a hot shifter!!!
Fun stuff. Welcome back (it’s my first week back in a few months) and congratulations on the new release!
Hate it. Definitely. Welcome back yourself. Hope to see around. I am trying to get back to this regularly.
Haha! Girl scout cookies – nice way to break the ice. Super six!
Thanks Sandra. It takes a lot more than that to break the ice but that’s where the fun is. Glad you could stop by.
Love the tension. Great six.

Thanks Cera and Sara. Glad you could drop by.
Welcome back, Sabrina, and wow! Congrats on the release date. I definitely need to get this on my wish list. I love a snarky heroine!
Thanks Silver. I love writing and reading a good snarky heroine.
